Hiking in our own backyard

DSCN1839
We had so much fun hiking in the Alps that when we got home we decided to put our hiking shoes back on and go hiking in the outskirts of our own town.  We’ve known about this hiking trail since we moved here, but hadn’t had the chance to go yet.  It was a perfect day with beautiful weather.  You will even notice in the pictures that there are signs of Autumn being here now.  I love this time of year with the leaves changing color and the sounds you make from walking on fallen leaves.

If you have a thing against slugs, you might not want to look at the next two pictures.  We found a bright, orange slug out there…disgusting!!  That was one thing I had a hard time with when we first moved here.  I would go running out by the vineyards and the sidewalks would be covered with slugs! That is definitely something you do not want to step on.

Tybee really does enjoy the hikes as much as we do, but the excitement of it all seems to wear her out pretty quickly.

He’s mastering the art of swinging his hiking stick without hitting anyone.  I had to have him go far away from me because he made me too nervous.  And, Yes, that is a diaper he has hanging off of his belt.  What a cute kid for helping Tybee out with that.
