For our “mommy/son date” on Friday, Ethan wanted to carve pumpkins. This really isn’t something I enjoy because it requires creativity and makes a huge mess, but I couldn’t say no to him, so that is what we did. Luckily it ended up being more of a family affair, so I had help with the clean up and more supervision of the knife usage.
Ethan did a great job for it being his first time doing pretty much the whole pumpkin himself. The hardest part for him was drawing a face on the pumpkin. He couldn’t decided what he wanted.
Poor Tybee wanted to try it too.
This is a very scary sight…three knives within reach of Ethan. He handled it well though. Especially with James’ tutelage.
Mine is on the left and Ethan’s is on the right. I think we did a mighty fine job.
Saturday was our ward Trunk-or-Treat/Chili cook-off. I wish I had gotten better pictures of the kids in their costumes, but it was a crazy day. We had two parties to go to, food to make for both, and friends that came from out of town to join us. It was a lot of fun though and the kids were adorable. Tybee’s costume was so big for her, she may even be able to wear it next year…or maybe at least Fasching.
I hate these pictures because I look horrible, but it’s all we’ve got. So please ignore me and check out the kiddos .
Last night, for Halloween night, we all stayed in and had caramel apple fondue and watched a movie. Living in Germany we don’t get any trick-or-treaters and Ethan made out with enough candy from the trunk-or-treat to last him a year, so we didn’t need to go on base to do that. It was a fun family night in.
